The After Math of Sleeping With Makeup
As women, we like to dress up and put on our best collection, wear the perfect shoes and jewellery, and a hint of perfume. But wait just a minute, something is not right ….
Is it the bag, the hair… nope; it’s the makeup. Ever since we have been little girls, most of us enjoyed wearing our mothers’ makeup or put on some on our dolls. Fashion and personal grooming is in our genes. This becomes obvious when it comes to dressing up. We like to dress up for any event that comes our way. But at times those late night events and conversations can get too exhausting. You think “ok it’s just one night, doesn’t matter, let’s just sleep it off and take care of it in the morning. Which by the way, if you are not too careful, can result in becoming a habit. It will eventually lead to sitting in the cosmetic surgeon’s office.
The point is if you are not too careful with proper skin regime and removing makeup as soon as possible, it can cause some nightmarishly serious damages.
Clogged pores
Throughout the day, we are exposed to environmental pollution and other kinds of by-products. When we neglect our skin and leave the make up overnight, especially in cases of foundation and primers, this leads to development of bacteria and formation of microcome dome. In other ways your skin will be infested with pimples and acne.
Premature aging
The external agents and leaving on makeup prevents renewal of skin due to inhibition of the microcirculation. This ultimately leads to damaging the collagen of the skin which manifests in a form that is every woman’s night mare and a cosmetic surgeon’s dream come true, i.e., wrinkles!
Broken eyelashes
Forgetting to remove eye makeup, such as eye shadow and mascara tends to clog your eyelash hair follicles and oil glands located on the eye lids. This can cause swelling or even bumps like Styes. The mascara causes the eyelashes to become brittle, causing the eyelashes to shed faster than the autumn leaves on a tree.
Dry skin
The makeup residue from the previous night curbs the proper functioning of the natural cleansing routine of your skin, creating an obstacle for any nourishing minerals to rejuvenate the skin. Eventually, it not only causes blackheads but breakout of acne and dullness of skin.
Dry and Chapped lips
If you are not too careful with the use of lipstick, it can cause your lips to get dry and chapped.
Removal of the makeup
The motto of all the graphic description of skin damage we have shared above is: remove your makeup regularly. Unless you want to wake up in the morning and return to the crime scene, looking like the bride of chucky, or worst, the notorious Annabelle doll. All doctors recommend a proper cleansing regime to be followed, depending on your skin type. There should be a proper exfoliation and cleansing of the face and neck, this also includes moisturizing of the lips as well.
Our body is our temple; a sanctuary which must be taken care of. Therefore, proper and prompt cleansing of the skin is a must.
